Many Changes

Many changes are going on in my life. I apologize for not being very quick to update. I really do not have any followers so it really doesn't matter I guess.  I am working on a picture tutorial for making one of my magazine boxes so that will be up soon. If you are reading my blog and like what you see please comment or show others so that word can be spread. I'd love to be able to show the world what is going on with me!

It is official!

I officially got married last Saturday! I have entered the realm of the married folks. Obviously, there are not crafts to report because I have been dealing with the wedding clean up and being an awesome little wife and writing my thank you cards and all that good stuff. Soon, though, I plan on a whole lot of paper crafting! I just wanted to tell the world that it is official!

Two Weeks

The big day is 2 weeks from now. I am getting nervous but I am also ready to get it over.  I have been doing a lot of computer work for the wedding. I have made rehearsal invitations... signs for the wedding... Oh! and  I made these little gems too!

Random different colored penises to hang up.

This is for our food.

This is so people know they have reached the correct apartment!
As you can tell, we are having a dirty bachelorette party. I made all these decorations for the occasion. That is really all I have...
I got a cute dress... at Walmart of all places.

Ignore the pile of clothes. I live with a boy.

I particularly love the lacey top! Super sexy!
This might very well be the last post I make as a single woman. So, I just thought I'd check in!

Shit's getting real!

It is about 3 weeks till my wedding. It is so hard to grasp that the time is almost amongst us. I am excited and scared at the same time. There is only a few things I have left to do... This is what I've been up to:

 Making my escort Board
The board is satin covered foam core board with ribbons adhered and stretched all the way across. I put little roses on to hide the  glue on the ends.

The full board with everyone hanging.

Name tags are hanging from the ribbons with little clothespins that  I painted red and white.

Blinging out my shoes

.
I actually did this a while back and forgot to post it. I bought this  sheet of blingy, sticky crystals at Micheal's, David Tutura I believe is the brand, and then cut it to size.

Making penis name tags for my bachelorette party. They are made out of shrink plastic and clear coated and now they have a pin back glued on!

I also have to show everyone the really cute penis shot glasses my friend got for the party! I can't wait to try a shot in them! lol

I have received 2 wedding gifts in the mail. one was this:

A wok from my good friend, Mandy and her husband! We can't wait to use it! The beautiful model is my future husband.

The other gift is from my friend Katrina and I am not allowed to open it until my wedding! So, it sits there and stares at us!

Making a Birdcage Veil

So, For my reception at my wedding I have decided to change into a dress that will actually be comfortable. That means I will also have to take my huge long veil off.  I made a smaller birdcage veil to wear with my reception dress.

Please ignore my lack of make up and the fact that I was unable to pin it down good.
Once again, I didn't think to take pics, but you get another awesome paint drawing!  So here is the deal.

Items you will need for this project:

  • A hair comb- you can get these in the wedding section at most crafts stores and you might be able to find them at Walmart too.
  • A piece of birdcage veil as big around as your head.
  • Thread in the color of your veil
  • A hot glue gun (optional)
  • Something to embellish it with
Here is how to do it!

I hope you find this  useful when trying to make your own birdcage veil!

Corset invitations

Wow. So, it has been a while since I updated! Sorry about that. I can now post pics of the bachelorette party invites I made since I have now mailed them out!  Here they are!

They are little corsets! To get to the information you simply untie the corset and open it up! Each one was different and there are so many of them! I picked three to make the collage.

So I know what you are thinking: "Well, that is nice but how in the heck did you do it?"
Well, I decided this would be my first ever tutorial. Sorry I do not have pics of the entire process but i'm doing my best to make some diagrams to go by. I hope this helps!

And that is how it is done guys! I hope this was of some help to someone!

Sparklers Galore!

So, I've been busy this week. I've been a wedding machine. Sadly, a lot of this does not really involve crafting as much as just printing and assembling stuff.   This week the main thing I have done is assemble my sparkler packets.  I found a free printable (my favorite thing for this wedding) to put my sparklers in then I attached my matchboxes to to my sparklers with a hole punch and ribbon.

This is my fiance assembling the sparkler packets. He is so helpful. Please excuse the mess. As you can see, it's a DIY warzone in here!

This is my finished sparkler packet. Don't they look cute?!

I have also painted some clothes pins for my bachelorette party.
Pink and black clothes pins!
The other thing I have been doing is trying to make a seating chart. That is so hard to do when you have such a different mix of people.  It fried my brain and I'm still not sure if I have it right.
If I ever get a divorce, which I hope would never happen, I will not have another wedding again.

Matches and Candy bars

This week I have been a busy little future bride. I have almost everything ordered that I need to have ordered minus a few last minute details, I have been doing a few DIY projects for the wedding including wrapping matchbooks and wrapping candy bars. I used some free printables that I found around the internet for these items and kinda adjusted the colors and put monograms on them to make them suit my needs.

These are my matches... my sparklers are still being delivered. I'll update when I get those suited up.

These are my candy bars! Cookies and Cream Hershey's!! mmmmm!

My next project will be making a birdcage veil to go with my reception dress. I will post pics as I make it! I hope everyone has a wonderful evening!

Introduction

I have never been much of a person to chronicle my life daily, weekly, or even monthly.  With this said, this is just going to be a blog to keep up with my life as I feel like logging in and sharing... or if I remember to do so. I tried a few years ago to make this blog to share my opinions on places I go and things I get ahold of but with planning my wedding and all the crafts I am doing I have decided to change things up and make this a place I can show everyone the things I am doing, no matter what that might be.

Just a little about me: My name is Amanda, I am getting married in April. I have been with my fiance for a little over 5 years. I live in Tennessee. I love to craft, cook, bake. I love art and music... and talking about myself always makes me feel awkward because I feel as if I am incredibly uninteresting.  So, without further ado I will now share with you some of the crafts I have done in the recent past:

This is the paper bowl I made out of magazines. It was a fairly easy craft. I am pretty proud of the way this turned out.

This is the garter I am going to wear for my wedding. My mom made the actual garter out of red satin and black lace and I embellished it. It is embellished with a small shrink plastic Nintendo controller I made, some beads, some ribbon and some little red and/or black jewels.

These are some of the hangers I made for myself and my wedding party to hang our dresses on on the big day. You can't really tell in this picture but it is covered with black and red glitter and is embellished with red jewels and some flowers. The "Mrs. Brown" and "Shanita" part is made out of  black craft wire and is glued into little hole I drilled into the wooden hanger.

I make steampunk style jewelry... These are 2 gear rings. The ring part is made out of a clock hand and decorative part is made out of gears and arrows. Each one made is unique... and yes I do sell this stuff although I have not sold anything in a really long time. I also make other things besides rings too, these just happened to be the quickest examples that I could find on my compy!

I also make normalish jewelry too.

...and I make bracelets.

And finally, what am I  making today?

:drumroll:

Corset invitations!
These are made with glittery scrapbook paper, ribbons, flowers, jewels, and basically anything I feel like putting on there.

So, I hope you guys have enjoyed my first post! Feel free to drop in anytime and see what I'm up to!
